Here are some of my projetcs that I have done throught the years.
Research
My research assessed the efficiency of infrared imaging in self-driving cars, revealing that thermal sensors surpassed traditional color sensors in detecting warm-blooded animals, with a 20% reduction in training time for the former. In specific sectors of autonomous vehicles, such as farming and off-road vehicles, infrared sensors showed promise for improving detection in low-light and adverse weather conditions. However, their suitability depended on the application and specific requirements of the autonomous vehicle.
Robotics
In my robotics experience, I focused on coding the April tag detection system, enabling the robot to recognize and locate these tags for navigation and mapping purposes. Additionally, I worked on implementing autonomous movement capabilities, allowing the robot to make decisions and navigate its environment independently. Lastly, I was involved in programming the robot's elevator system, which played a vital role in the robot's ability to interact with objects at different vertical positions.
Computer Science Honor Socioty
During my tenure as the Computer Science Honor Society Vice President, I actively sought to bring new opportunities to the society. I worked to expand the range of activities, events, and resources available to members, aiming to enhance their educational and networking experiences within the field of computer science. My role involved fostering a supportive environment that encouraged skill development, collaboration, and academic excellence among society members.
Server
Moving Mineola School District's server infrastructure to a new location involved a meticulous process. It encompassed planning, physical relocation of servers and hardware, and thorough testing to ensure seamless operations. The project required coordination among stakeholders, data backups, and post-migration evaluation to guarantee a successful transition to the new server environment.
Portugal
Bringing the FTC (First Tech Challenge) to Portugal involved initiating the expansion of the robotics competition into the country. This likely entailed coordinating with FTC officials, securing sponsors, and engaging local schools and teams to participate in the competition. The effort aimed to provide Portuguese students with opportunities to explore robotics and STEM education through competitive events.
